Weichert Relocation Resources Employees Volunteer to Make a Difference in Their Communities

5/22/2007

MORRIS PLAINS, N.J. - On the job or in their communities, employees of Weichert Relocation Resources Inc. (WRRI) are always looking for ways to make a difference in the lives of others. This charitable spirit is particularly evident during CommunityCare Day, a company-wide day of volunteering held twice a year, through which WRRI employees across North America donate their time to support families in need and advance community development.

“CommunityCare Day is an extension of Weichert Relocation Resources’ long-standing commitment to making a real, tangible difference in the communities where our employees live and work – communities that we proudly serve,” said Aram Minnetian, president of WRRI. “Our employees’ commitment to changing lives and affecting positive change continues to be a great source of pride for our company.”

Employees in Morris Plains, NJ, partnered with United Cerebral Palsy to repair, restore, and clean up the grounds around a former nursing home facility that is being transformed into a center for disabled individuals and their families.

Houston employees worked the hammers and saws, joining forces with the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity to assist in the construction of a home for a local family.

In Chicago, employees provided welcome support at the Northern Illinois Food Bank, helping to prepare, sort and package cereal and plastic supplies for distribution to local shelters, soup kitchens and food pantries.

Similarly, Denver employees spent the day at the Jeffco Action Center, a shelter for underprivileged families, cleaning windows, sorting food and clothing donations and stocking shelves.

Employees in Boston performed a multitude of tasks at the Taunton Animal Shelter, walking dogs, grooming pets, cleaning cages and refurbishing the grounds.

Wilton, CT, employees assisted with a beautification project along the banks of the Norwalk River, cleaning debris and making the area more hospitable to conservation efforts.

In Toronto, employees assisted the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, helping to register participants for the Super Cities Walk for MS, an event that raised over $5.5 million.

Since its inception, Weichert Relocation Resources has encouraged employee volunteerism through programs such as CommunityCare Day that support two of the company’s most prominent corporate objectives: helping families and improving communities.
