Weichert’s Jack Cox Named Volunteer of the Year by the Morris Plains' Recreation Commission

1/26/2009

MORRIS PLAINS, N.J. - The Weichert Family of Companies announced that Jack Cox was recently named the 2008 Volunteer of the Year by the Morris Plains Recreation Commission.  Cox, who serves as chief financial officer for the Morris Plains-based company, was recognized for his continued support and involvement for the past 15 years in various recreational programs.

“We are extremely proud of Jack for all of the contributions he has made to the Morris Plains community,” said James M. Weichert, president and founder of Weichert, Realtors®.  “Jack is the embodiment of the Weichert spirit – a hard working professional who makes it a point to still find time to give back to the community he serves.”

Much of the time Cox has volunteered has been spent working with the youth soccer program and the swim team to build kids’ physical skills and their sense of confidence.  During his involvement, Cox has also worked with many teenage volunteers and always strived to instill upon them the obligation he feels we each have to serve our community.

“To be named ‘Volunteer of the Year’ in the ‘Community of Caring’ is one of the greatest honors I could ever receive,” said Cox. “Contributing to the community is not only important but expected, and that was instilled in me at a fairly young age by my parents and aunts and uncles.”
